PsyBA Board-approved Supervisors Training : Masterclass - Editing Case Reports and Utilising Live Observations

This Master class focuses on some of the assessment requirements of the internships to upskill current Board-approved supervisors in live and written assessments. 

It will explore in depth the requirements for the case reports with opportunities to edit and discuss as a group, explore various methods to assess live observations to assist supervisors in evaluating and providing feedback on broad and specific skills, setting agendas, supervision notes and progress report writing.  It will conclude with updates on any recent changes to guidelines, forms, and procedures.

 

The Master class contains an assessment component enabling you to continue to meet eligibility as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

 

This course attracts 7 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Points.

 

PsyBA Approved Supervisors Training 

All psychologists who wish to supervise provisional psychologists in a workplace training program are required to first successfully complete a Psychology Board-approved full supervisors training package or a supervisor’s master class for supervisors previously approved by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) prior to July 2013.

Communicare Inc RTO is now offering the Full Supervisor's Training for individuals who are interested in applying to the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) to become a Board-approved supervisor and the Supervisor's Master Class training for individuals who are interested in maintaining their Board-approved supervisor status.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • To understand the format and requirements of a case report
  • Engage in group discussion surrounding editing a case report ready for submission
  • To understand the various evaluation techniques to use when undertaking a live observation
  • To practice providing feedback to a supervisor in relation to their live observation
  • To understand the structure of supervision case notes and progress reports
  • To be informed of any recent changes from the board

 

Course Outline

Session 1: Editing Case Reports – Case formulation, diagnosis and the case report, Unpack a draft report

Session 2: Live Observations – Exploring the different types, assessment techniques, feedback assessment tools and implementing training activities.

Session 3: Supervision notes – Setting an agenda, reviewing goals across 8 core competencies, Format of notes, Transferring information regarding ongoing supervisor training
