Equity – Youth at Risk

Jobs and Skills WA is a way the State Government, through the Department, prioritises its investment in training to focus on courses that equip people to take up jobs that are, or will be, in high demand.

 

Many other important industry courses are funded under Jobs and Skills including the Foundation Skills and Equity courses.

 

Communicare are approved on the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) Panel of Providers and is offering the 22473VIC – Certificate II in General Education for Adults to – Youth at Risk.

 

Eligibility

This program is aimed at students who are of compulsory school age 15 – 18 years and are referred into the program by an authorised referral agent (List can be found on the DTWD website click here to view the referral agent list)

Communicare are approved on the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) Panel of Providers to deliver the 22473VIC – Certificate II in General Education for Adults who are seeking to improve their Language Literacy and Numeracy.

 

Eligibility

Students must have a Health Care Card and be unemployed to participate in this program.

Alternate Education Program (AEP) – Mentor4U

The AEP – Mentor4U program is funded by the Department of Education and provides alternative education programs for severely at-risk Year 11 and 12 students who have barriers to education and have been disengaged from school for significant periods of time.

 

The aim is to re-engage students with learning and gradually work towards transitioning to an on-site environment (e.g. School, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or employment).

 

Communicare provide a Mentor to work one on one with students to build the necessary skills, attitude, confidence and abilities to continue an education or employment pathway.

 

Eligibility

Students must be year 11 or 12 and referred into the program under a Notice of Arrangement (NOA).
