Module 2: Managing Probation

  •  Identify the length and purpose of the probation period
  • Explain the rights of employees and organisations during the probation period
  •  Identify and discuss your responsibilities during probation
  • Discuss how to deal with performance, conduct and attendance issues during the probation period.

Module 3: Coaching

  • Recognise what coaching is
  • Describe the benefits of coaching
  •  Identify effective coaching skills
  • Explain how to apply the OSKAR coaching model

Module 4: Mentoring Others

  •  Explain what mentoring is
  • Recognising the benefits of mentoring
  •  Explain your responsibilities as a mentor
  •  Identify the qualities of a good mentor
  • Discuss how to establish a mentoring relationship
  • Explain how to mentor staff members of varying needs
  • Discuss how to resolve common problems associated with mentoring relationships

Module 5: Improving your Listening skills

  •  Explain the difference between listening and hearing
  • Recognise the benefits of good listening
  • Discuss ways you can improve your listening skills
  •  Identify how to avoid the common barriers to listening
